At Home Catering is the most affordable caterer in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.  We started catering out of the kitchen of FoodBar DC , one of Washington DC ’s highly praised restaurants, located in the Dupont Circle area of Washington , DC .  Owned and operated by Douglas “DJ” Jordan, his vision was to allow everyone an affordable option to catering small and large events.

After catering numerous events, including fundraising events for then Mayor Anthony Williams of Washington , DC , Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton of Washington , DC , and numerous government agencies in the Washington DC surrounding area, the word was out about At Home Catering.  We started our own catering division after building a new state of the art facility, and we have continued to grow.  Our Executive Chef, Miguel Pena, has been preparing magical meals for over 20 years, and comes up with new creations each and every day.

How can we be the most affordable caterer?  It’s simple.  Most caterers quote you a price for the food prepared, the staff to serve the food, and all of the extras that goes along with making the event a success.  For a gathering of 300 people, serving a lite fare menu, we were quoted anywhere between $7500 to $11,000.00 from local caterers.

We do what we do best.  And that’s prepare the food.  We did our research and found out that most events have volunteers that are available to serve the food, which saves thousands of dollars for our clients.  We are able to prepare a menu for 300 people for half the price of what other caterers in the Washington DC Metropolitan area will quote you.  We also have plates, silverware, glasses, napkins, tablecloths, chafing dishes, serving utensils, etc, available for rent, or if you choose to use disposable utensils, we can get those for you at cost.  We make it as easy as possible, for you.  If you need staffing for your event, we know several staffing agencies that can provide that service for you.  We prepare your order and it’s available for you to pick up, or we can deliver it to you for a small delivery fee.

We specialize in Re-pass service for churches.  During the time of losing a loved one, there is no time to think about preparing food for after the memorial service.  Let us do that.
